Skin Types

We all produce sebum, an oil that lubricates and protects the skin. Normal skin is even, neither shiny nor dry. Dry skin is tight or flaky, due to insufficient sebum production, while oily, acne prone or combination skin is shiny because of excessive sebum. But the puzzle doesn’t end there. Sometimes skin that feels dry is actually dehydrated, that is, lacking in water. Dehydration is different to dryness. Sensitive skin is a complex issue, too. Often sensitive skin has weakened barrier, leaving it reactive and susceptible to irritation and discomfort. Both sensitivity and dehydration are conditions that can affect any skin type.

Grazia magazine’s annual Beauty Awards 2017 selected Epara’s Cleansing Oil as the Best New Product for Dark Skin.
