Epara launched in Lagos last autumn with Alara. The luxury concept store is not only one of the continent’s most prestigious retail spaces, it’s also our first stockist on African soil, and proved the perfect partner for introducing our special range of skincare to the Nigerian market.
To mark the occasion, Epara founder Ozohu Adoh and Alara founder Reni Folawiyo co-hosted an exclusive in-store event and invited the city’s media personalities, influencers and discerning consumers to come and experience the products while enjoying Veuve Clicquot and canapés.
The intimate affair welcomed guests including actress Eku Edewor, fashion designers Bridget Awosika and Zainab Ashadu, Condé Nast International’s Ezzie Chidi-Ofong, TV host Didi Daley and Schick magazine editor Simisola Esiri, among others.
As Ozohu was born and raised in Nigeria, in a sense this launch was Epara’s homecoming, and so it was important to her that the brand speaks to and delivers results for women of colour who live here. Everyone who came to the party wanted to know ‘Does it really work?’. As the growing numbers of satisfied customers who continue to shop for Epara at Alara ever since can testify, yes it really does.
